Vatalla began with a stubborn refusal — that you shouldn't have to choose between a chair that supports your body and one you're proud to keep in your home.
Office ergonomics never belonged at home.
For years the deal was simple and bad: the chairs that actually held you up looked like they had escaped a cubicle, and the ones that looked right at home quietly wrecked your back by mid-afternoon.
We thought that trade-off was lazy. So we set out to build seating with the engineering of a high-performance office chair and the restraint of furniture you'd choose for your living room.

To get it right, we partnered with ITO Design in Nuremberg — three decades of biomechanical research distilled into a silhouette meant for the home. The result is BIRCH: office-grade support that settles into a room instead of dominating it.
